FORD TO DEVELOP A SHELBY GT500 PREDATOR V8 AS CRATE ENGINE

Ford never fails to offer a wide range of crate motors/engines for road and race applications. The enormous 7.3-liter Godzilla pushrod V8 is Ford’s most recent to enter the setup, yet it may be joined not long from now by another plant with a supercharger and unmistakably more force.

The company is supposedly building up the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 from the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 for crate motor duty in the Ford Performance index. A report from Ford Authority refers to the board from Ford Performance discussing such a move during SEMA360, the online variant of the yearly SEMA show set up for 2020.

It evidently won’t be straight progress from Shelby’s engine bay to a wooden crate. However, The report asserts the arrangement will be somewhat less complicated, but nothing is confirmed. It is not shocking to see the GT500’s Predator V8 in the running for crate engine duty.

Ford now offers a range of Coyote V8s from the Mustang, including a 5.2-liter subordinate of the Shelby GT350’s plant. If the supercharged motor makes the change, it will probably keep its presentation rating of 760 pull (559 kilowatts), and that would effectively make it the most remarkable case motor in the Blue Oval’s wheelhouse.
